A Clearwater condo owner contacted us in regards to a large amount of black mold discovered in their residence. This particular Clearwater residence lives in the Clearwater area part time. They reside the summers in the north, and the winters in the south. Upon returning to their Clearwater condo, they found a large amount of black mold growth in the AC / water heater closet. Once humidity is elevated in Florida and Tampa Bay area residences, mold begins to grow at an accelerated rate. We will be performing a black mold removal project on this Clearwater condo to make it habitable again.

A pantry closet in a nice home in the Westchase area of Tampa experienced a small water leak from a water jug that led to mold damage. As you can see in the pictures below, the moisture from the leaking water jug caused the building materials in the pantry to become a host for mold growth. With the high humidity here in the Tampa Bay area, it doesn’t take much moisture for mold growth to occur. We will begin a mold removal project in this Westchase home this week. Typically the mold growth on the inside of the wall is much worse than what you can visually see on the outside of the wall. Our infrared mold inspection camera will tell us the areas containing the most moisture which is where the nucleus of the mold growth will be. Since there is still humidity and moisture inside the wall, we usually find surface mold growing in areas that far exceed where the core of the mold growth occurs.
We just finished a mold removal project today in Dunedin, Florida. The owners of this Dunedin home were out of town visiting family for a couple of months. When they returned they noticed a musty smell in their kitchen. Upon opening the kitchen cabinets, they were hit with the musty smell full force and also noticed dampness to the kitchen cabinet bases. A small water leak had formed on of the plumbing supply lines while the Dunedin home owner was out of town. This small leak saturated the particle board cabinets and also seeped underneath the wood laminate flooring. We found mold growth in the two rooms adjacent to the kitchen. The home is now mold free and the homeowners are happy with our mold removal services.
